My name is Brett. I am a lifelong member of the Church, pioneer descendant, former full-time missionary, temple sealed husband and father of two incredible kids. For the past 11 years I have been blessed to have the job of “miracle worker” – I raise the living (stay-at-home dad).
I think that me being a homemaker has given me a rare opportunity. I see life differently from most men/fathers because my role in the household is one that has traditionally been reserved for women, and as such I have become more sensitive to issues of gender and patriarchy.
I love what the priesthood has brought me personally and feel that it would be a travesty and a waste if those experiences were not available to all, including (and maybe especially) my daughter. I support Ordain Women because I believe that the Church can only improve with the inclusion of women in its leadership. I believe women should be ordained.
