Hi, I’m Christian. I’m a writer and stand-up comedian living in the Salt Lake area. I was raised in a loving Mormon home in Kentucky and I served in the Brazil, Sao Paulo East mission from ’03 to ’05. I’ve always felt that the LDS Church would benefit from more involvement and input from women at all levels. In the absence of clear doctrinal clarification on an issue, I think it is our responsibility to advocate for what we believe to be best for the Church and its diverse body of membership. There is not a clear statement of scripture or official doctrine that explains that women should not receive the priesthood, and allowing women to serve in the priesthood would help the church achieve its mission. That is why I believe women should be ordained.
