Hi, I’m a long-time Baptist married for over 25 years to a wonderful Mormon man (don’t ask me how it works, but it does).
Over the years, I’ve observed Mormon leadership has had to revise man-made rules to come more in line with God’s rules. It’s time for another major revision. In the Old Testament, there were women-leaders including a Judge and Deborah who led the Israelites into battle. In the New Testament, Jesus included women in his ministry as teachers. I serve faithfully in my Baptist church, holding several positions such as Sunday School Teacher and Clerk. I don’t fight the ordination battle there because our Deacons and Pastors pretty much acknowledge the major work of women and don’t keep us out of any decision-making or teaching positions.
I am saddened by Kate Kelly’s excommunication and I believe Mormon women should be ordained.
