I am 22 years old and I have lived most of my life in Provo. I recently graduated from BYU with a degree in German Literature. I write poetry and hope to someday make a living from doing so. I was raised both a Mormon and a feminist. Ordain Women gives me hope for the future of my faith.

As a straight, white man, I have attended church for years without discrimination, however many other people have not. As a teenager, my sister was alienated from our ward for her refusal to accept marriage and motherhood as the purpose of her life. Local leaders actively chastised and excluded her and asked other girls to follow suit. As long as priesthood is used as administrative power and priesthood is only held by men, women will continue to be forced into roles they do not fit and resisting those roles will be treated as dissent. I believe women should be ordained because our Heavenly Parents would not allow half their children to be secondary in the Kingdom.
