I’m Alice. I was born in the church and have been an active member my entire life. My spouse and I were married and sealed in the temple and I have continuously held a temple recommend. I love service and have mostly served in the church in Primary, including being a Primary counselor. I value being a Mormon. I love that Mormonism has taught me divine truths about God, and that it has given me an opportunity to have a relationship with my Savior, Jesus Christ.

Our Heavenly Parents have designed a beautiful world for us and given us a gospel of abundance. This gospel of abundance means that every single person who has ever lived on the earth will have the opportunity to learn of Christ. This gospel of abundance means that our Savior’s atonement is for every single person who has ever lived on the earth. This gospel of abundance means that our Heavenly Parents’ love for us is relentless, continuous, and everlasting. This gospel of abundance means that God hears each and every one of our prayers. To me, this gospel of abundance also means that God is ready and willing to expand each person’s opportunity to serve, if they desire.

In my study of the gospel, I have found that there are eternal principles underlying church practices and policies. Church practices and policies occasionally adapt, adjust, or change, such as with new revelation, or to suit the needs of the church. One of these eternal principles is the priesthood. It is easy to see, by reading the scriptures and even through modern revelation, how the practice and policy of the priesthood has been adapted by church leaders. I believe the practice and policy of the priesthood should again be adapted.

Extraordinary women are encompassed in the modern day Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Women who desire to serve the Lord. Women who honor and respect the priesthood. Women who are capable of holding the priesthood and serving their God through the priesthood. I believe the practice and policy of the priesthood should be adapted to allow women to more fully serve the Lord.
I believe that expanding the priesthood to women, doubling the number of priesthood holders in the church, can only bring more blessings to the church and to the world, not fewer. I believe it is time for the church to live up to the gospel of abundance and adapt the practice and policy of the priesthood to include women. I believe women should be ordained.
